Dr. Jekyll & CandyCane
I was born on June 3, 1962 in Atlanta and we moved to
Mableton December 1962. I started riding a mini
bike early in life and got my 1st
motorcycle when I was
12 years old. It was a Honda XR75 which has inspired my
liking for Honda’s. I rode that bike so hard it was like I was trying to tear it
up and it kept
on going. In 1987 I purchased my street bike, a 1985 Kawasaki
LTD 700. There I found my passion forstreet riding. Of course being young and having the
need for speed I sold the Kawasaki
around 1990 and Purchased a 1989
Suzuki Katana 600 and boy was it fast. I rode it for several
years. I met Tammy
in the spring of 1993 and I was told we would need something a whole lot more
comfortable if we were going to ride together so in 1995 I sold
the Suzuki
and bought a 1994 Honda Shadow. I rode it for several years and was about to sell it
and not replace it because we never rode. In 2000 we met Reb
(My Friend, My Brother, My Mentor) and several other Southern Cruisers. We hung out with them several times that
year but did not join this wonderful
family of Southern Cruisers
until the fall of 2001. We originally joined the Stone Mtn. Chapter and boy did these folks ride. They
were planning a trip to New Orleans, LA in
the spring of 2002. We wanted to go
but we knew that Tammy would not ride that far on such a itty bitty seat. Once again we
needed a bigger bike, I then bought the 2001
Valkyrie Interstate. In 2003 we transferred
to the West GA. Chapter to be closer to home. Then along came the Lost Mtn. Chapter
right here in our back yard. In the summer
of 2006
we met Pooh Bear and like everyone else we took a liking to him real fast and
transferred to the Lost Mtn Chapter in January 2007.
February 14, 2007 I was offered the GA State O
fficer for the SCRC. We have met so many dear people and have made so many
friends I thought it was time
for
me to roll my sleeves up and jump in to give some of
my time to help more people find the brotherhood and family atmosphere that we
have come to enjoy. Before
I became State Officer I was known as CandyCane's
husband. Tammy has done so many things and continues to do so much to keep us involved in the club
and...

to date we have ridden over75,000
miles with the club and been to 47 SCRC rallies and we
hope to double that in the years to come!!
